PhD Student: Microbial Consortiums
Nestor came all the way from Tabasco, Mexico to pursue his PhD focusing on engineering microbial cells to work synergistically to produce natural products. In other words, he is working on designing co-cultures and microbial communities for the production of complex chemicals.
His work also includes studying population control, specialisation, division of labour, etc. Outside the lab, Nestor enjoys sports (mostly running and football), rock n’ roll music, video games and movies.
